Welcome back to the new year!

I'm more excited than ever for this school year, now that I've gotten to know your children. I really do have a great group of kids that seem eager to learn lots of new things!  In second grade we do so much and grow in so many ways, you're really going to see your child bloom.  And we have exciting adventures ahead of us--hands on science activities, field trips, and lots of learning! 

Open house was a huge success--thank you all for coming!  I look forward to conferences, where we'll get another chance to sit down and discuss your child.  Reminders will be sent home as we approach the dates.

New interactive PBS Kids website!

Check out the new link to the right!  PBS Kids just announced a new website focusing on interactive math games featuring all our favorite characters.  Explore it with your child--it's tons of fun!

Trouble logging into IXL?

Our school has a new ixl web address.  If you've been using the old site: www.ixl.com, then your child's username and password won't work.  Please be sure you're logging into the updated site.  You may use the link on the right navigation bar on this page, or go to:

www.ixl.com/signin/walkeres

Your child's username is his/her first name plus last initial, all lowercase, no spaces. 
The password is mccue, all lowercase.
